Patrik Karlström's work investigates the politics of representation. As in the series Policy from 1999, where he imitates the symbolic photographs from corporate publications such as annual reports. The result is poetic metaphors like a lonely tree, a long and winding road and hands in water. The policy is of universal application - strength, origin and belief in the future.
Consequently Karlström visualises the fact that no form or image is innocent and neutral, not in art or in the society at large.
