Sofia Runarsdotter (b.1982, in a rural area outside Ribertsfors) has a 15 years long artistic practice of working as a documentary photographer in Sweden and overseas. Her practice today extends to photography, video, text and installations. She has studied at Nordens Fotoskola, Royal Institute of Art and Konstfack where she graduated from the Master programme of Fine art 2022. Her motifs originates mostly from the rural area where she grew up in north of Sweden. Her works stains from personal experiences and the themes embraces identity, time, dignity and gender. She is currently working on the long term project 'Girl, Battle' with young female handball athletes. A project born from her own experiences of being devoted to the sport in her adolecent years.
