Åmells are delighted to present an autumn exhibition dedicated to city photography. The show mainly focuses on Swedish street photographers, and demonstrates various angles of the genre. A city always played an important role in photography. The first photographers were searching for their inspiration in the modern urban landscapers which emerged during the Industrial Revolution, becoming the first narrators of cities' history through their pictures. Through the camera lens, photographer gives a viewer an opportunity to walk through city streets, which are the same multifaceted as its inhabitants. A city is a place where people meet and experience the moments of happiness and bitterness, a place of beauty and monstrosity, and only a photograph can pass it unchanged.
