THE DEATH OF CERAMICS

This exhibition presents thirteen artists working with clay. To be more specific, this is a show presenting works by contemporary artists that have a special relation to the medium. Some of the artists have a traditional craft background, others come from a fine art context. Curated by Stephen Mckenzie and Christian Sandell, the display aims to investigate the role of ceramics in the Swedish contemporary art scene. The complex interplay between a traditional crafts tradition and a fine art trajectory is made evident in the variety of the works. The result is a multi-faceted and intriguing survey.
